Being the one who gives when it's hard

Being the one who gives when it's hard

Being the one who gives when it’s hard...

The realest and hardest thing about getting older is facing loss in a new way. Some of you are facing an even harder task: being the executor of someone’s will.

I know it’s a difficult thing to talk about, but when we work together, death and loss become a little bit more bearable. 💖

How resilient are you dealing with life's little curve balls?

How resilient are you dealing with life's little curve balls?

I think of myself as a pretty resilient person. For me, resiliency is my capacity to cope with life’s curve balls.

Well just a little while ago, in a period  of one week, I had to deal with several losses and disappointments, both in my personal and professional life, and by the end of the week, I felt like I had been pummelled by a whole lot of curve balls!

So, all of this got me thinking about resilience. Just how do I or others manage challenges, loss, and disappointments?

Study states skilled talent shortage will continue to impede global growth

I’m curious about how many companies are aware of this…😲

According to Canada’s Urban Futures Institute, about 425,000 Boomers will retire by 2020 annually and some 9.8 million Canadian baby boomers are already approaching retirement.

Already a major issue, skilled talent shortages will continue to impede global growth and if not addressed, could have a significant impact on major economies by 2030, a study* by Korn Ferry (NYSE: KFY).

Whew... talk about succession planning being key! How are you getting new leaders to step into the role and how are you supporting the leaders you have who are leaving? 🤔

This is just one of many things I can help you with. If you’re interested in having me come to your place of work to do a session or workshop, drop me a line today!

Is long-term care insurance right for you?

Is long-term care insurance right for you?

No one has ever said to me, “I can’t wait to move into a long-term care home!” So I think it’s a safe bet to say that very few of us want to do so. e want to stay as independent as possible in our own home for as long as possible.

If you take care of yourself as mentioned in an earlier blog, you can hopefully push back long-term care needs well into your senior years.

Whether you will need long-term care or not, there is no doubt however, that long-term care is expensive. Has this been factored into your overall financial plan?

Handle your retirement like a boss

Handle your retirement like a boss

💃You’ve handled your career like a boss….so why not handle retirement like one too?!💃

You’re a powerful professional woman, and the end of your 9 to 5 days are finally in sight or just a few short years away.

Woohoo! Bring on more time with girlfriends, more time with grandkids and finally writing that novel you’ve had in your head since you were 35. 💆

Retirement, even if it’s still a few short years away for you, is the next step on your journey.

It can instill positive thoughts of relaxation AND some serious feelings of anxiety and uncertainty. 🤔

Amazing mental health benefits from forest bathing

Amazing mental health benefits from forest bathing

In with the old...growth?

You may have heard of “forest bathing”, based on the Japanese concept “shinrin-yoku”, which literally translates to “forest bath”. 🌳🧖🏼‍♀️

Essentially, it’s meditation amongst the trees. 🧘🏻

Families that evolve together, thrive together

Is your time with your grandkids strained because of your relationship with your child or stepchild?

Having ups and downs with children is one of the most natural parts of being human 🤷🏽‍♀️

Of course, there is no easy fix to this. It’s as complex as a problem gets.

What does financial stability mean to you?

What does financial stability mean to you?

Getting personal with you means showing you my humanness. I may have training and expertise to serve you with, but that doesn’t mean I’m without fears! 💜

One of my biggest fears is wondering if I’ll be financially stable in my retirement years. For me, being financially stable is knowing that I’ll have the money for the things I want to do.

The need for compassion with ourselves

💚Talkin’ bout tough stuff alert.💚

How do you start talking about trauma with the ones you love and trust?

Even understanding our own trauma can be elusive.

If you have been through a traumatic experience, you may understand what it feels to be triggered or experience ‘flight, fight, or freeze’ while under particular stress. But it doesn’t make it easier to understand or accept!
