How do you start talking about trauma with the ones you love and trust?

Even understanding our own trauma can be elusive.

If you have been through a traumatic experience, you may understand what it feels to be triggered or experience ‘flight, fight, or freeze’ while under particular stress. But it doesn’t make it easier to understand or accept!

My health means everything and I am doing all that I can to be in the best shape possible so I can continue to have a great quality of life in retirement. 

If you want to have great health in retirement, but you haven’t donned track shoes since your last gym class; you don’t eat well, sleep well, take time to recharge your batteries, are often stressed, or are generally in poor health, then you are at a crossroads and you have an important decision to make.

The “S” word is a very very bad word.

Yes, I’m talking about STRESS.

And for a lot of you, you may have spent the majority of your day today caring for everyone but yourself.

I know the other “S” word….self-care….can be a bit overused these days but honestly, caring for yourself and your needs is one of the best ways to manage stress, pre-retirement and during retirement.
